Last Saturday I did something I hadn't done in ages: I participated as a vendor at IndieWed Chicago, and I had such a fantastic time meeting a bazillion couples who are at different stages of their wedding planning. The organizers parked me on the first floor, right in front of a gorgeous classic Studebaker (side note: my grandpa owned one of these a million years ago, so maybe that was my good luck charm?), right in front of two fabulous caterers and a cake baker so bonus- I tasted tons of yummy foods trough out the day.

It took me about an hour to setup my booth and, if you love all those gorgeous displays, know that they're from LouLou Belle and that they're available for rent so if you want these at your wedding, call Dodi and Lisa and tell them I sent you. Oh, and the florals were from Trader Joe's (they cost a whopping $18 you guys!). I finished early enough to have a few minutes to say hello to a few of my vendor friends and wish them luck. Now, that walk around the booths in my brand new, super cute booties did leave me with some serious blisters. Thankfully, my sidekick for the day -the fabulous Nohemi Moran- brought me band-aids from home. Yeah, she really kicks butt in more ways than just taking great pics.

Once the doors opened at 10AM, couples started trickling in and checking out the booths. My favorite part of the day was listening to everyone's wedding plans, especially all the peeps wanting to bring unique elements and incorporate special traditions into their days. Seriously now, there were like ten couples that had me super excited with their ideas (and yes, if you're reading this, you need to book me guys!). Oh, and the grab bags we handed out were a total hit!! In case you're wondering what was in them, they each had a packet of Milano cookies (for keeping the energy up while browsing booths), a Bling Wipe (to shine those rings before engagement portraits), and a fabulous offer for all couples who book me by February 11.

So, if you were at IndieWed and haven't book your photographer yet, let's get you in the books asap. And if you missed the whole thing, I'll be doing it all over again at IndieWed Elgin on March 1st so get your tickets today.
